Mizuno was originally founded as Mizuno Brothers, Ltd. in 1906 by Rihachi Mizuno and his younger brother Rizo in Osaka.
The business began by selling Western merchandise, including baseballs, and later expanded to offer custom sportswear.
In 1933, Mizuno introduced the Star Line, the first Japanese-made golf clubs.
During World War II, Mizuno contributed to Japan's war effort by producing military ammunition.
In 1961, the first American factory, known as American Mizuno, was established in Los Angeles.
